Flashiibo Pro Firmware Update Instructions
This guide will walk you through updating your Flashiibo Pro using an Android, iPhone, iPad, or Apple Silicon Mac.
Video Tutorial
If you prefer a video tutorial instead of text guide, you can watch the tutorial here. It’s for Android, but it’s almost identical on iOS.
Guide for Android / iOS / Apple Silicon Mac
Download the Firmware and DFU App:
- Download the latest firmware file from the Downloads page. Save to Files (iOS), Drive (Android) or Downloads (Mac).
- Download and install the nRF Device Firmware Update (DFU) app on your Android, iPhone, iPad, or Apple Silicon Mac.
Prepare the DFU app:
- Open the nRF DFU app on your phone or Mac. If prompted, make sure to grant Bluetooth permission.
- In the DFU app, click on “Select” under “Files”
- Select the firmware file you downloaded earlier.
Prepare Your Flashiibo Pro:
- Ensure your Flashiibo Pro’s charging cable is plugged in.
- Keep your Flashiibo Pro within 1 foot of your phone or Mac to ensure a stable connection.
- Turn on your Flashiibo Pro, go to Settings and select “Firmware Update”.
- The device will go into Firmware Update mode and stay that way in that mode for 30 seconds.
Connect and Upload:
- Back to the nRF DFU app, click on “Select” button under Devices
- From the list of devices in the DFU app, choose either “Flashiibo DFU” or “pixl dfu”.
- Click “Upload” to begin the firmware update.
Wait for Completion:
- The upload process will take about a minute. Do not turn off your phone or Flashiibo Pro or move away from your phone or computer.
- Upon completion, Flashiibo Pro will restart and operate in regular mode again.
Guide for Windows (Not Recommended)
Firmware update support on Windows is unreliable, we STRONGLY recommend you try the Android or iOS methods above first.
If you have no access to an iPhone or Android phone, you can try this unofficial tool Flashiibo Pro Updater Client.
If you try this way and it fails, and your Flashiibo Pro gets stuck on a “WAITING…” screen, please don’t panic. The device is NOT bricked, it’s still in working DFU mode. You can borrow an iPhone or Android phone and complete the firmware update with the method described in the section above.
