[!IMPORTANT] Flashiibo Pro Gen3 Exclusive:
The FEB Runner and .feb mini-applications are exclusively supported on Flashiibo Pro Gen3 running firmware version 26.10.4 or newer. Due to hardware limitations, this feature is not available on Flashiibo Pro Gen1 or Gen2.

What are FEBs?

FEB stands for Flashiibo Executable Binary (.feb).

For Flashiibo users, FEBs are small, standalone games and interactive mini-applications that run directly on your Flashiibo Pro’s OLED screen.

Unlike firmware upgrades—which update the device’s entire operating system—FEB files are self-contained programs. You can simply copy .feb files onto your device’s storage (just like copying amiibo files), and play them anytime without reflashing or modifying your device firmware.

Popular titles include classics like 2048, Flappy Bird, Sokoban, and various retro arcade games and utilities, all running smoothly at 60 frames per second using the device’s physical buttons.

Requirements

To run FEB games, make sure you have:

  • Flashiibo Pro Gen3 (look for the Gen3 4-button hardware).
  • Firmware 26.10.4 or newer: If your device is on an older firmware version, see the firmware upgrade guide.
  • A computer or mobile device with Bluetooth to upload .feb files using app.flashiibo.com or the Flashiibo Pro Tools app.

Download Latest Games

Pre-compiled game binaries are ready to download:

  • Visit the official releases page: FEB SDK Releases on GitHub
  • Download individual .feb files (such as 2048.feb, flappy_bird.feb, sokoban.feb) or download the complete .zip bundle containing all available games.
  • If you downloaded a .zip archive, unzip it on your computer or phone to access the .feb files.

How to Upload Games to Flashiibo Pro

Uploading FEB games to your device is quick and uses the same tool you use to manage amiibo files:

  1. Turn on your Flashiibo Pro Gen3.
  2. From the main menu, navigate to Manual & Bluetooth. A blue light will begin flashing, indicating Bluetooth is ready for pairing.
  3. Open app.flashiibo.com in a Web Bluetooth-supported browser (such as Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge on a PC/Mac) or open the Flashiibo Pro Tools app on your phone.
  4. Click Connect and select your Flashiibo Pro.
  5. Once connected, click Refresh to view the files and folders on your device storage.
  6. Locate the feb folder (e.g., /feb/). If the feb folder does not exist yet, create a new folder named feb in the root directory.
  7. Open the feb folder and click the Upload button.
  8. Select and upload your downloaded .feb files into the feb folder.
  9. When the uploads finish, you can disconnect and return to the main menu on your device.

How to Launch and Play

Once you have uploaded your games:

  1. Return to the main menu on your Flashiibo Pro Gen3.
  2. Select FEB Runner (or Mini Apps) and press OK.
  3. Use the UP and DOWN buttons to browse your list of installed games.
  4. Press OK on any game to start playing! You can force quit the game and return to the menu at any time by pressing UP + DOWN simultaneously.

Game Controls

Flashiibo Pro Gen3 features four physical buttons mapped consistently across games:

Button Primary In-Game Action
UP Move Up / Jump / Rotate
DOWN Move Down / Crouch
BACK Move Left / Cancel / Previous
OK Move Right / Select / Confirm
UP + DOWN Force quit the game and return to the menu

Force Quit a FEB Game

[!TIP] Force Quit Any Game (UP + DOWN):
Pressing UP + DOWN simultaneously will immediately force quit a FEB game and return you to the Flashiibo menu at any time. This hardware chord works across all FEB apps and games, even if an app is paused or unresponsive.

For Developers: Build Your Own Games

Interested in creating your own retro games, demos, or utilities for Flashiibo Pro?

The FEB SDK provides a complete development environment designed for Flashiibo Gen3 hardware:

  • Repository & Documentation: https://github.com/fishybow/feb-sdk
  • C Development API (feb.h): Lightweight, high-performance C headers for 128×64 monochrome OLED graphics (lines, rectangles, circles, sprite rendering, and typography).
  • Hardware Integration: Non-blocking input polling for UP, DOWN, BACK, and OK buttons, 60 Hz frame cycle timers, pseudo-random generation, and persistent save storage (.sav files).
  • Included Examples: Explore full source code for existing games and demos (including 2048, Flappy Bird, Sokoban, button input demos, and drawing primitives), or clone examples/template to kickstart a new project.
  • Easy Build Pipeline: Simple command-line tooling (make) to compile your C code directly into ready-to-run .feb binaries.
